The team at Laidlaw Hall is made up of highly dedicated and very well qualified teachers each with their own areas of expertise and special interest.
Collectively we hold a wide range of qualifications which include MA, BA and B.Ed. degrees and PGCE; Diploma and Certificates in Specific Learning Difficulties, diagnostic and standardised assessment. We are continually updating our knowledge and have attended further courses in the areas of dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia.
We have teachers on our team who specialise in the teaching of Touch Typing and Handwriting. Gwen Dornan, our talented and experienced handwriting teacher has been helping children to develop their handwriting for many years. As well as having a long and successful career as a qualified teacher, Gwen is a member of many handwriting groups. She has been Vice-Chairman of the National Handwriting Association. She has also co-edited a publication entitled 'Which Handwriting Scheme?' which is widely used in schools throughout the country.
We have all previously worked in a wide range of schools within the state and private sector as Special Needs Co-ordinators, specialist teachers and class teachers.
The Laidlaw Hall team is led by Sue Laidlaw (Founder and Senior Partner of Laidlaw Education) and Jane Lort (Head of Team at Laidlaw Hall)
